Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP)
If you are worried about being pregnant, you may want to take an emergency contraceptive pill. (also called the ‘morning after pill’). The emergency contraceptive pill ismost effective if you take it as soon as possible after unprotected sex. Within 72 hours is best. The effective decreases as the time passes. Our pharmacists can prescribe the ECP if you meet the criteria.

Tairua-Pauanui Pharmacy can supply up to six months' worth of your current pill without the need for a doctor's prescription.
We can supply any of the commonly used contraceptive pills if you meet the criteria.
Our service is available to: - Women who are aged 16-39 years , not Pregnant and who have visited their Doctor for the Pill in the last 3 years
Urinary Tract Infections
Urinary Tract Infections may be referred to as a URI or bladder infection. They are an often painful condition of the bladder with symptoms including pain on urination and an increased urge to urinate. Our pharmacist can prescribe antibiotics for uncomplicated UTI. The treatment is a three-day course of antibiotics, is available to women between the ages of 16 and 65 who are not pregnant. If you don't meet the criteria there are other options available or referral to the GP
